Mine just arrived and boy, how sweet it is!!  Fantastic job IDW!!

Skateman?  Did Neal do a portfolio for that?  I seem to recall some character sketches for the Continuity heroes but don't recall that.

No, no Skateman portfolios...the New Heroes porfolio Neal drew for Continuity contained other characters like Toyboy, Shaman and Ms Mystic. It's a joke because Skateman is regarded as one of the worst comic books of all time...

Scott Dunbier tipped me off on a few of the upcoming editions, and it's
going to be a pretty incredible next couple of years for the Artist's
Edition line.
======
I'm just hoping for some Jack Kirby and John Buscema. They are
glaringly absent from what's come to date.

Also, I got to thinking, I don't know how easy it would be to collect but
six issues of THE INCREDIBLE HULK and the MARVEL FANFARE
issue would make a really nice Artist Edition.

Mine is coming this week, it will be my first Artist's edition. I'm curious to see how real the pages look.

Just received my copy and ... WOW!
A beautifully produced book and the artwork...well, the artwork is just wonderful.

Plus it's big. Really BIG!
Far larger than I was expecting - and from other people's comments I was expecting a large book.

Can anyone tell me, is the page size the same size as the original artwork?
I'm assuming it is, which makes the detail in the artwork even more amazing.

Yep, that's one of the major appeals of the Artist's Editions...same size as the original art, some like the Eisner and Wood editions twice-up.

The inks on FF262 (The one with Namor and Marinna) are incredible.

JB, I would love to know what tool(s) you might remember using during that period.

The thing I really like is all of the rounded ends on the brush strokes. Instead of ended in point, they end with rounded tip.

How do you do that?

Finally caved in and purchased one of these. Not normally that interested in original art but I make an exception for JB.

I experimented with so many different tools during my time on FANTASTIC FOUR (and ALPHA FLIGHT) that I really no longer remember which were used where.

Sorry!
