A quick way to get really depressed -- at least for me -- is to do a Google or Bing search for "Galactus". So many images, and so many artists who seem convinced they can improve upon perfection. One of the things I find truly amazing is how the simplest elements of Galactus' design can be so wildly misinterpreted. Consider the eyes. When I went back thru all the versions, setting about distilling them into a consistent form I could draw from then on, one of the first things I picked up on was those square "shields" (or whatever) Kirby originally gave the helmet. I brought them back, and other artists followed my lead -- but so few seemed to "get" what Kirby had drawn. Consider: Of course, a whole lot more than just the eyes are wrong with that drawing, including what became a habit among colorists of leaving the "shields" white. I asked for that to be corrected a hundred times, and it was, once or twice. Truth to tell, it was all these crazy variations that were at least in part an inspiration for my adding to the mythos the notion that Galactus, as a force of nature, is seen differently by whoever looks at him. My own version of the observation defining that which is observed!
