Redundancy is the problem I keep coming up with, and I don't really know that the team should be more than 6-8...and in some ways even 8 seems like too much.

I agree. Indeed, I always felt that more than six Avengers felt cluttered whilst less than seven in Alpha Flight felt sparse. Guess it's all in the writing...

I started with the same 5 as John Byrne and Nathan Greno, but I think 7
would be easier than 8 because I could just add two women, She-Hulk
and Captain (Monica) Marvel. She-Hulk is my favorite Marvel super-
heroine and an appropriate replacement for the Hulk, and Monica Marvel
brings a little diversity and a lot of power to the team. Furthermore, I
loved her in the Avengers with Jan and Jen, as written by Uncle Rog - my
favorite Avengers/Marvel writer.

Going to 8 meant I had to choose somebody over somebody else. I
couldn't add Scarlet Witch without Quicksilver or Vision (and vice-versa),
but I prefer both She-Hulk and Monica Marvel to her, so they were all out.

I love Wonder Man, but figured he was too powerful with She-Hulk, Thor,
Iron Man, and Giant-Man already on the team. Like Black Panther, he was
redundant. Same for Hercules, whom I love and would love to see on the
team with She-Hulk, so I settled on Hawkeye over Falcon since he was
there first.

I think I would rather choose two teams, so let's say we make it 7 and
Hawkeye goes out west to re-form his team...

Hawkeye
Mockingbird
Tigra
War Machine
Wonder Man

That leaves room for two more...

Vision and Scarlet Witch.

However, since we have two teams, we might want to have founders on
each team. Therefore we could switch Hank and Jan for the Vision and
Scarlet Witch. So the East Coast team becomes...

Captain America
Iron Man
Thor
Vision
Scarlet Witch
She-Hulk
Monica Marvel

and the West Coast team becomes...

Ant-Man/Giant-Man
Wasp
Hawkeye
Mockingbird
Tigra
War Machine
Wonder Man

However, with a reunited Hank and Jan heading out west, I might want to
start fresh, so the East Coast team looks like this...

Captain America
Iron Man
Thor
Vision
Scarlet Witch
Black Widow
Falcon

And the West Coast team would look like this...

Ant/Giant-Man
Wasp
Monica Marvel, the "West Coast" Captain Marvel
She-Hulk
Hercules
Black Knight
War Machine, the "West Coast" Iron Man

Man! I could do this all day!

The Vision has to be in my Avengers line up. Using all of his powers, which I have not seen in years. Plunging his fist into Hyperion, becoming diamond-hard and dropping on Nefaria, etc.

Plus. Married to the Scarlet Witch!! Yowzers!
