Obviously, I should NEVER be a contestant on The Price Is Right!

So since it's past midnight on 6/15, I won the contest? Thanks must go
to my AWESOME wife (who helped fund my
Birthday Bash commission late last year). On the
last day of the contest, I finally got up the nerve to ask her about
donating that amount for this contest, and she didn't even blink an eye -
we already donate to local animal shelters, and she was ok with this as
long as none of our usual recipients got less versus previous years.
Luckily, we had quite a bit extra in our donations fund...! And she was
ok with donating that much even if we didn't win.

Thanks to JB for doing this contest that benefitted some great
charities!!!

This should be an annual event here. What a great idea !

I second an annual event. According to my calculations, it will take 11
years before those Kirby pages and that superman vs Spider-man gem
end up for grabs.

Well, I'd say Dan walked away with this one! And congratulations, I would not in a million years have expected such an amazingly generous response!

Next step, we'll need to see a copy of the cancelled check -- I'll ask Jim Warden to be receiver there, rather than a scan posted on the Forum -- but once those niceties are taken care if, the box will wing it's way to our winner.

Well done all! For those who did not win, I hope the sense of having done a good deed will really be enough!

(Annual event? Uhm... I don't produce xeroxes nearly fast enough! This box represents something like a 12 year accumulation!)

Congrats, Dan!

The contest was an awesome idea, JB.

Nathan, don't let that Facebook garbage bother you. I've been getting nasty messages from idiots for years because of my membership on the JBF...and I rarely say anything controversial here!

Nathan I am so sorry for the message you got, I too have received hateful messages outside of this forum by some really sad people. I am also sorry that Wilson felt the need to be so unkind. I am still at a loss on why he said "all is forgiven" and not "I am sorry Nathan".

Dan  If possible, I think all of us would enjoy seeing some pics of some of your favorites in the box. You did a really good thing and tell your wife thanks too. I have a friend that is the director of the city animal shelter and before that, he ran a wonderful no-kill shelter.  They are always in need for supplies, in fact he just sent out a request for dog food. (My trunk now has 120 lbs that will be delivered to them tomorrow.) The money you gave will save many lives.

And to those that give, to find a cure for cancer, I thank you. Being Fathers Day is a sad reminder of how horrible that disease is. My boys will spend their second Father's day without Chuck. He was taken from them by a very cruel illness way too soon and I hope in their lifetime, we will see a cure for most cancers. The money you gave will help achieve that.

Well done all!!!!

I look at the hate mail and comments as a badge of honor. Definitely
not something I worry about.

And now, least what should be a Happy Thread, drift off into Troll Gratification (ie, talking about them), I will lock it down.

Again, well done all!

After an slight and unavoidable delay, happy to report that all is now squared away, and the box o' xeroxes can wing its way to Dan as soon as he confirms the, ah, tree-like address is the one to use.

Again, congrats to all who did their good deeds, and to Dan especially.!
