The Powers That Be must be lamenting that great Byrne MOS-age encapsulations like the one above exist while not be able to use it in their books. That WOULD have done nicely for a 75th anniversary contribution.

Seeing artwork of 'pre-Nu52' Superman makes me sad, considering what's being done to the dude nowadays.
Sigh

This would make an awesome cover, or poster! +++++ Tell me about it! That one is mine! Commissioned back in 2007… •• And I think I can still pat myself on the back for my Kryptonian designs, which are still timeless after a quarter century. An important choice I made early on, to have the Kryptonian garb be "alien" rather than "futuristic". Looking back, it is interesting to note that Shuster's FLASH GORDON style Krypton remained "fashionable" for about thirty years, until our perception of what sci-fi looked like began to change so radically in the Sixties. Credit STAR TREK a good deal for pointing us away from the "medieval" costumes and the silver cigars with fins.

And here's what six JB Man of Steel covers look like on one wall:
It was incredibly cool to open up a box and find all six of those staring at me, along with a couple of Neal Adams covers, a couple of Curt Swan covers, and some other fun stuff.

Can we see some close-ups, Andrew? The distance is killing me - I want to step into my computer and get a closer look!

I should schedule a curator's tour of the exhibition for JBF members some upcoming weekend at the Cartoon Art Museum.
I'm getting a nice batch of work from Mike Carlin's personal collection this week, and it's a lot of art from his editorial tenure.
