A really good start with the first issue. I enjoyed it so much that I'm patiently waiting to read the next seven issues right...?

For me, quite the different feel for a JB cover for this issue. I like it. Also the way you paneled the landing was cool, um yeah cool.

Bring on the next one!

A great start, I'm hooked. I love that high security prison idea. In fact I had a similar idea for a comic I never did a long time ago = The only survivors from a cataclysm on Earth are the inmates sheltered from it in their high security prison. What new society would they start once they emerge from it ? Well I can't wait for them to come out obviously. Oh and like Didier, I wish you'd take advantage of us French members for the next time French is needed in the book.Tout droit means "straight", not "all right". A minor problem of course, Mr Byrne.

Loved this issue!  Interesting concept, top notch art.  Can't wait to see where this series goes.

John, I'm  always fascinated by your handling of characters from differring countries and cultures.  Their attitudes and personae reflect their individual perspectives on the world at large.  You always seem to get it right and is one of the (many) things that make your stories so enjoyable.  I'm a sucker for multi-lingualism, so consider many, many kudos offically heaped upon you.  : )

I finally got a chance to go to the comic shop and pick this up.  I really enjoyed this issue and am looking forward to the rest.  My favorite art bit was the way JB depicted hair in zero-gravity.  I guess I haven't read many comics set in zero-g (every space story I can think of seems to implictly involve artificial gravity), but it's the only comic I can think of that depicts long hair floating the way JB did.  Great stuff.

In terms of story beats, my favorite moment was the scene at the Vatican.  I'll confess -- on my first pass-through of the page, I didn't realize what the Pope was doing.  Then when I read the next page with the Pope in the car, I realized what was going on with the Pope and the "Pope," and I was instantly impressed with the storytelling efficiency of  "To the left ... I drape this to the left."  Outstanding.

And moving out from the micro to the macro, this was just an all-around well done book (not surprising, given that it's JB).  If the rest of the mini grabs me as much as this first issue did, I'm going to have to think long and hard to figure out whether Cold War has been unseated as my favorite of JB's IDW work (not a bad thing to have to ponder).
