So many high points to this commission.
One that hasn't been mentioned yet: the sheer ugliness of the ground around Cap. This is a once-busy town that's been ground into smaller and smaller chunks during year after year of brutal warfare until there's nothing recognizable left. In war, whole towns and even cities return to a browner and sootier version of their original state of natural entropy.
Like the shredded flag, it underscores the blast furnace nature of combat. An exceptional detail.
