11" x 17" illustration of Captain America charging forward on a WW II battlefield. The details are:

- Captain America in same costume as in Batman/Captain America (modern costume with circular shield)- please have bullets bouncing off of Captain America's shield and draw him in a pose similar to the following:

LINK1

- please have an American flag as a background element- Captain America is very prominent, a similar feel as this commission:

AWESOME!! Nice one, it really shows that CA is JB's favorite. You draw him the best out of everyone in my opinion. Plus it is nice to see him in that custom the new is terrible.

…CA is JB's favorite…

••

Y'know, he really IS.

Often, when asked which is my favorite character, I have said it depends on which day of the week it it, whether it's Batman or Cap. But working on this piece reminded me, once again, that as much as I love the ol' Gotham Guardian, there is something about drawing Captain America that nudges him just a WEE bit ahead.

Fantastic! One of the best Caps you have drawn JB! You really managed to capture the era. That flag has gone through the ringer. Almost scary.

Perfect! The determination on Cap's face, the ricochets off the shield, the tattered flag, the rubble! This is one of my favorite commissions ever!

Great looking commission, JB. Really love the background and the flag. So patriotic.

Congrats to the commissioner.

That flag has gone through the ringer.

••

I spent some time looking at images of the flag on BING -- especially, double checking the pattern of the stars for WW2 vintage. I had not, at that point, decided whether the flag would be whole or tattered, but when I came across one particular image of a ragged flag -- and WW2 vintage to boot! -- it just had exactly the look I wanted. That whole battered but unbowed attitude, that is so very much a part of the American personality.

Wow! Fabulous!

I myself *want* to like Capt America, but (with the exception of the originals in the 40s; and modern period Lee/Kirby and Stern/Byrne stories) I have never felt the stories have lived up to the character.
