I think Marvel's omnibus' are fantastically produced, but after I got Vol.2 of the Stan/Jack FF omnibus, I realized that the only feasible way to read them comfortably is at a reading desk, which is something I would probably never do. Plus, I love having JB's run digitally since they're scans of the original comics, wonderfully crappy newsprint + adds and all. Ah, if only I could reproduce the smell...

Definitely waiting for me at the LCS! Looking forward to reading them again especially after having just finished off Vol. 1 in preperation!

It should also include the unpublished/published original art from FF 286. I
sent Marvel scans of the unpublished FF 286 flashback plus the pages from
the issue after the flashback which had the original dialog before it was
change.

I am itching to get this for "The Last Galactus Story", which I have never read.  I am holding onto the Visionaries editions - this is my favorite Marvel run and I would like to collect it in its different formats.

Will these issues be in the ESSENTIAL B&W format soon?

Still not on Amazon though. Odd.

The Hatchette catalogue is for the bookstores so contains things months before seen elsewhere.

Amazon is a bookstore.

It's released on Amazon Dec. 17.  That's par for the course with regard to comic book reprint material.  They normally are allowed to sell 1-2 weeks after retailers get it.  Just speculating here, but I think it's to allow LCS (whether brick & mortar or on-line comic book retailers) a window of sales.

***************

I just re-read it this past weekend. Some of the best work by the JB/Austin (and Wiacek) combo. Glynis really did a great job on colors, too.

The FF omnibus vol 2 came yesterday from amazon and it is awesome. It is very cool to see the Last Galactus Story collected into a single volume. I also like all the different cover and pin- ups images they put in the back. Well worth the money I say.

This volume marks my first exposure to the Last Galactus Story. The
first two chapters mirror my reading experience!
