About 2 years ago, I came really close to commissioning Byrne to draw THE LAST FF STORY. The story would also include the end of the LGS. =========== I'd prefer this:
Walt Disney Presents: The Last Fantastic Four Story Directed by Nathan Greno Screenplay by Nathan Greno Story by John Byrne Technical consultant: John Byrne
Bill's head would explode like his Galactus commission.
Sean, I'm going to pick it up. But having a volume 2 without a volume 1 will drive me crazy. Hopefully, Amazon will still have a Volume 1, because aftermarket omnibuses(omnibi?) can't get ridiculous in price quickly.

Stephen I have seen vol.1 on ebay a lot going for $40 to $50 which is less then what Amazon has it if that helps any. I also know what you mean about the aftermarket I waited to long on The New Teen Titans vol.1 and ended up paying $175 for it, but it was worth it, DC did a good job on it.

Man, these Omnibus volumes make me wish I hadn't already gotten the Visionaries trades.
Is the reprint quality improved from the Visionaries? Maybe I'll sell 'em off and get the Omnibus, instead.
I have all of the original issues included in the books except for The Last Galactus Story and WHAT THE--!?, which I've not read.
Ya can never have too much JB FF, though. One of my favorite runs of any book, ever.

I owned the Visionaries at one point, but donated them to a library when I needed to downsize before a hasty move.
Anyway, I have the first Omnibus, and while I don't have the Visionaries on hand, the coloring seems comparable to my memory. However, the oversized printing is a plus. I love the art being just a bit bigger.
I'd sell and consolidate. Hardbacks last a lot longer.

I know these things are expensive to produce but I don't get why Marvel and DC don't look at the after market proces and just print more - New Teen Titans is one that I missed but would love. No way am I paying the current prices though.

You can find a lot of the recent Marvel Omnibuses at 50-75% off, so I think they might have been overproduced lately. They are also doing another printing of the high demand OOP books. They've announced they are reprinting FF vol 1, Amazing Spider-Man vol 1, Uncanny X-Men vol 1, and the Frank Miller Daredevil Volume.

Snagged a copy of X-Statix (a book I never read but heard good things about) for less than 25 bucks. For that price, I can buy it, read it, and sell it and make MORE than my money back if I don't like it.

A lot of talk elsewhere about what to do at the end of TLGS. I'd hope they just print a small summary of JB's own planned ending and leave it at that. Though I doubt JB cares what they do.

Well, the right thing to do would be for Marvel to hire JB to finish it. Maybe someday. Until then, I'll be happy to get that Omnibus, unfinished story or not.

This is on Amazon now for preorder (currently at $84.63). It's interesting that in the "Customers Who Bought This Also Bought" section, Volume 1 doesn't show up until page 12 of 17! Also, the "More About the Author" section only mentions Roger Stern! (I think JB may have mentioned something similar in another thread).
