My introduction to Carmine Infantino came through Marvel Comics, where he had brief stints as an artist during the late 1970s and early 1980s. The first instance was an issue of The Human Fly in which the Ghost Rider guested; the second was part of his run on Spider-Woman where she fought against the Cult of Kali. There was something about his style which stood out even then. More of these old masters are going to be leaving us sooner than we think. We're quickly missing our chances to exchange greetings with them. Carmine has gone to join Kirby, the elder Buscema, and Colan amongst the throng that passed before him. RIP
