Calling someone "too sensitive" is a real riot given the egg shells required to be walked on around this joint.

You have a true gift with people. See ya!

One of several reasons why I wish I could believe there is a particularly toasty corner of Hell waiting for Sam Raimi.

Considering Sam's Evil Dead history, I chuckled at this post.

Why do folk get their panties in a bunch so easily?

More internet mythology. Never cloud the issue with facts!

Kevin:  (He also thought I had personally drawn the Showcase pages!)

Honestly, I think most non-comic fans might guess the same thing.

Oh, yeah. I don't begrudge them that (I was flattered). It was just an out-of-body experience to put the large cutouts up and have someone say, essentially, "You stole that from Spider-Man!"

When I was doing FANTASTIC FOUR I took the opportunity to blend together the "two versions" of Doctor Doom. Stan's, the established version, where Doom's face is pretty much blown off, and Jack's, the version that wasn't used, where Victor has only a tiny scar, and his ego drives him to believe his face is "destroyed".

Since it had been pretty thoroughly established that Doom's face was a horrible mess under his mask, I got the two disparate parts to fit together by having his face bear only a small scar until (as previously established) those monks put the mask on while it was still blazing hot.

What I didn't know, when I did my story, was that a writer who had worked previously at Marvel had used the "small scar" bit for a minor villain at DC. So, of course, I was swamped with letters from fans who knew nothing about Kirby's original conception of Doom, and accused me of "ripping off" the DC character.

sigh

Sorry if this is breaking forum rules but I think people might like reading this story Neal Adams told of his first meeting Carmine Infantino.
