The main reasons that Jose doesn't do more comic work, as I
understand them, are a combination of the financial reimbursement for
licensing work is significantly higher than page rates for comics and his
perfectionism leaves his production speed slower than editors prefer.
As far as superheroes vs. non-capes..... He may have a preference, but
he does what he's asked as far as assignments taken on and his
shying away isn't specific to superheroes...... My heart died a bit when I
was told tht he was approached a few times to revisit Jonah Hex when
the character was brought back by Palmiotti. I actually winced again as
I typed this.

I can't tell if that Batgirl piece was done with watercolor or marker.

I was lucky enough to have been given a copy of the full style guide years ago. Some truly remarkable work there. And all at the same level of professional excellence, whether drawing Superman, or Batman, or those strange little baby versions of the characters. Just brilliant, brilliant work.

And in that bottom one, the Joker isn't... So much for the permanent rictus theory.

JB: Was it your request to have Mr. Garcia-Lopez do covers for many of your Wonder Woman run?

Looking at those two panels from Batman 353, I think that now Batman would be punching the Joker to a pulp instead of taking a moral victory. This is of course after the Joker has killed and maimed many other people.

Trevor, I thought April 9 was the release date too, but it was in my
subscription box at the LCS this afternoon.
