wow! You hit this one out of the park, JB!
I have no real interest in Mars Attacks, but I would pick this comic up in a heartbeat!

John, you're killing me. Every time I glom one of these superb executions, I mourn for the comics of my happy youth. Hell with that! Wonderfull, fun, exciting. Imagine a drive-in movie with this theme!

This is great. Call me crazy, but the part that strikes me the most is the "corrugated" nature of the inside of the machine's pincers! Love it.

I have never read any of the Mars Attacks books. But between this masterpiece and the Dave Sim cover I saw . I am going to have to check it out. It looks like silly fun.

Great piece. It's kind of sad that we'll probably never see a scene like this in a Batman comic again.

what i like best about the commissions (and those who ask for them) is that 1) they're fun (when comics so often aren't these days) and 2) they allow the possibility of all sorts of fascinating mash-ups that we *could* see in comics but almost never do. batman and robin vs mars attacks? brilliant! now who will ask for superman vs mars attacks or silver age JLA vs the martian tripods?
