Sorry for the delay in getting this posted to the gallery.
Life does indeed intercede from time-to-time...

Look at the "bugs" and the giant robot: JB is the master of texture and undoubtedly his own best inker!!!!!!!

Love this!

I've never been a big Robin (or even DC, for that matter) fan, but the last couple commissions he's been in have really made me rethink that.

Also, technically, isn't it the Varvel Age of DC Comics?
-----------------------------------
Growing up with the name "Varvel" I fell into the nickname of "Captain Varvel" pretty naturally being a big comic book guy. But I have always been a tried and true DC fan - even in the somewhat trying days - like now!

Looks even better on the larger scan.

Congrats, Larry!  I like that you asked the costumes not be battle-damaged or there be a lot of gore in the scene.  I tend to prefer those kinds of drawings myself.

OK, been checking this out in the gallery. Love how the beams of the pincer machine meld with the gutter.

My personal preference is for Batman to have longer ears, but he looks pretty good here. You've captured the classic Batman face. And both those kicks are shattering!

The effect you've used to capture the texture of the metal of the main machine is very effective.

Unfortunately in my mind's eye I keep seeing Robin getting squished under those cruel spikes in the next panel as the machine trundles forward.

Congrats, Larry! One helluva idea and done by the perfect artist to pull
it off! JB absolutely nailed it.

7 Flying Saucers
6 Alien Martians
2 Monsters
2 Superheroes
1 Giant Robot
I think that makes it the perfect commission piece.

Giant robots are always welcome here. Especially Nazi ones, though evil little Martian robots are new and exciting.
