Morbius is clearly a vampire character. That the details of his origin differ from the standard Eastern European folklore norm simply makes him a comic-book character, made to better "fit" the context of Spider-Man's world. His visual, methodology, and appeal are all based upon vampires. He's at least as much a vampire as the Lizard is a lizard. Should we now be holding that the character of the Lizard has nothing whatsoever to do with lizards...?
