There are so many things that I loved about High Ways # 1. I rarely see sci-fi done well in comics. High Ways, however, is a delightful array of elements that enhance our reading experience. I loved details like the gravitational shifts in the space station and also the use of time. I felt fascinated with the idea of an 8 months journey, so often we see spaceships in comics that travel in seconds from one galaxy to the next that we forget that space is infinite, even at the speed of light getting from one place to the other would take a lot of time. And the characters so far are really great, I think as readers we immediately feel interested in them. Really great first issue. Can't wait to read # 2.

Great first issue. Another set of interesting characters created by JB. I already wish it were a monthly series.
Smiled at the panel with Marilyn changing and Eddie peeking through his fingers.

Finally got the first issue today after LCS sold out. The splash page alone was worth the admission price. Finding the lead characters intriguing and eager to find out more. I especially like how the 'space slang' isn't forced but seems very natural. Excellent job Boss. Bring on issue two.

The logo for the new Guardians of the Galaxy series by Marvel kind of resembles the shape of The High Ways one, at a quick glance.

I finally read issue #1 and I liked it a lot. It reminded me of a classic sci-fi adventure movie, but updated for the modern day. Heck, I think that this series might make a good movie. I also applaud JB for having a racially diverse cast of characters.

Rick, have you ever had a chance to read any of the old EC WEIRD
SCIENCE stories by Wally Wood and that group? While THE HIGH
WAYS has a more modern real feel to the ships and tech, so far the
story feels a lot like those old stories.
When some at my LCS asked me about the book, I told them it was
what happens when Wally Wood meets 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY.

Just read it last night and loved it. Really fresh feeling, great characters and draws you into the story. Stunning effort! I especially liked the designs (and the guy in the suit on the first two pages who I assume has to have help walking because of living in lower gravity for a long time). I sure hope we see more High Ways after this story ends. What a treat!

Just got my issue last yesterday. Enjoyed the story, characters, and art. Really a lot of fun. Looking forard to issue 2. Question: On the first page, there is a character sitting in the center-back that caught my eye. Is that an alien or an unusual outfit/hat?
