In regards to issue 10 that was a huge mistake to change that cover. The Kirby one is pretty generic. The Ditko one is marvelous as a selling tool and artistically.

Yes! Someone please explain that one to me!

I like the Kirby version for issue Amazing 15. I agree with others here that it's very iconic and moody. I like Ditko's #10 better though, the Kirby version there seems too beefy and muscular, also Kirby didn't draw the webs like Ditko. Spider-Man in that era especially was very lean and wiry. Ditko had perfected the look by then, I wonder why they didn't use his cover, that fight scene is great!

I like them both - heck, I just spent WAY too much money so I could get a copy of the Ditko cover on the outside of an actual comic - but I do think the Kirby version works better as a "first ever" cover, particularly where the view of the costume is concerned. (Agree with the consensus on #10; Ditko's original is much better than the published version.)

I have to go with Kirby's original for Amazing Fantasy #15, even though I'm also a big Ditko fan, but for the life of me I can't fathom why Ditko's VASTLY superior cover for ASM #10 was rejected for what could be the blandest cover in the history of Marvel Comics.

I think the problem with the Ditko cover is that's too much going on and not much focus on Spider-Man. Apart from that... perfect!

I prefer the Kirby cover. Especially as serving to introduce the character.

I prefer the Kirby covers in both instances. Sometimes less is more.

I like the Kirby AF 15 cover but changing out that ASM 10 is almost mind boggling to me. I think the Ditko one blows the printed one out of the water.

I went and looked at the other AMAZING FANTASY covers and the Kirby version is, to me, more in line with the style of cover for that book.

Have to go with the Kirby covers in both cases. I love both artists but Kirby's cover design is stronger to my eye.

I as well much prefer the Kirby AF #15 cover but have to wonder how much was actually his art. Just the layouts? Did Ditko ink it? I think it's the single best Kirby Spiderman and he never seemed to "get" that character going forward.

This is kind of like saying I like apples better than pears because... But I do like the original Kirby cover better. It has Spidey and the buildings at a great dynamic angle -- and its less crowded than the Ditko cover. Stan knew what he was doing when he went for the Kirby cover.
