My favorite logo for DC Comics is, of course, Glaser's Bullet:
Doesn't get much better than this, does it? This logo has such simplicity, energy, and gravitas. It's timeless. It will always be DC's "true" logo. The current DC toilet seat and recently deceased DC Tiara/Swirl do very little for me.
My second favorite DC logo is unofficial. It was a variant test logo that was tried out in 1987:
Pretty spiffy. I love the rendition of Superman. I would guess it's Dick Giordano. Good thing DC didn't stick with this one because it would just be two short years before 89 Batman would topple the long established order of things!
Now the Marvel logo hasn't really had many drastic changes, but my favorite version will always be the classic:
I love the design and energy. It shows that comics are fun and still cool. Today's Marvel logo just feels "too corporate" to me. It's not for a comics company. Which I guess it isn't.
My second favorite Marvel Logo is the Timely logo:
Ah, very stately and powerful. Really brings you back to WWII era.

Love Glaser's DC logo, bar none.
The Superman drawing is by Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez. Inking might be by Giordano, tho not sure.

DC: Bullet and the more recent Spin.
Marvel: the Big M and the "Marvel" used in the late '80s for corner boxes.

The bullet logo is the only one that has ever done it for me.

Nostaligia is a powerful force! For me, the best one for DC will ever and always be the "DC SUPERMAN" bullet that was part of the cover dress when I first started reading American superhero comics. And I do have a certain fondness for the days when Marvel was represented by a tiny, discreet "MC" tucked somewhere on the cover. I'd been reading for a while, in fact, before I even knew the company was called "Marvel Comics".

This one really grew on me, and I ended up liking it a lot:
But I hate this one like poison:
