according to this article he's had to contact the authorities. Wow. I mean, is there much precedence for this? I know that fans always call for the head of some writer when they do something in comics, but they don't actually go out and actively do it!
Have you received any threats JB?

Spider-Man has pretty much been dead to me since the day Brand New Day was announced. But things had been sliding downhill ever since the Clone Saga.

Hopefully sales on Superior will tank, resulting in everything being returned to somewhat normal. Too bad there's no chance of OMD/BND being undone....

Sad.  For a comic book?  Reminds of John Lennon in a way with sick fans etc.  Sad.

Anyone still reading NuMarvel's junk is a little-messed up anyways.

Q for JB: Have you received any death threats or other disturbing
reactions to something you've done in a book - The deaths of Phoenix
or Guardian, Sue's miscarriage...?

I've not been following Slott's Spider-Man story. The offending story plot has leaked and I couldn't help but read what the hubbub is all about.  Dumb. Just dumb. Shouldn't Spidey be one of the most child friendly books they produce?

I can't fathom the mentality behind the new Spider-Man direction, but getting so worked up that you want to kill the creators? Sad and pathetic. How can anyone be so stupid to not realize that everything will be returned to normal in a year or two? It helps if you accept the fact that the Marvel Universe ended around 1991 (with a brief return in 1998-2000) and that what's been going on since is being produce by comic book company from an alternate reality.

Dan Slott is a good guy, and until this strange turn of events, one of the few superhero writers left that seems, or seemed, to get it.

I enjoyed Slott's work on his all-too-brief (5 issues, I think?) THING
series. I loved when he wrote Ben saying (and I'm paraphrasing) "I
was a superhero back when that meant somethin'!"

I looked at the spoiler, and it seems easily reversible. Both Marvel and DC have overused the trope being explored here, so I don't understand what warrants a death threat. I'm at least finding Slott's spin on it interesting from a materialism vs dualism perspective.

I recall seeing some bad poetry over the death of Phoenix, but no death threats.
