JB: You say you didn't come up with the name 'Alpha Flight' and that you were "stuck with it". Did you a have a name for the team in mind?

It doesn't appear on this week's list at my comics shop. So I placed an order.
Thank you for the reminder, Tim !

Matthew -- I did not design the original ALPHA logo, but I did come up with the second, looking for something closer to the ROM effect. * * * Thanks, JB. Have to say that logo is one of my favourites. The original looks too generic for my tastes whereas the second one stuck out as somehting different, which was obviously the intention.

I've been trying to figure out a "cool" replacement name for Alpha Flight that somehow incorporates Mounties into it for the last 15 years. Part of the reason I'm not married and work nights!

I am happy to finally have this. Issues 18-28 of AF were my favorite issues and this book contains most of those. I would say of all the issues JB did, issue 20 is my favorite. From the cover (which would have been even more effective without the copy "Try to forget her") to the interior art (Sasquatch clearing the land*, the house on Tamarind Isle, the green eye opening in the gold statue, the new Aurora) it is his most beautiful issue. And it was printed on that new paper they were trying out that hasn't browned in the 28 years since the issue came out. It was always jarring to me that issue 21 went back to the regular paper and dulled the effect of the story somewhat. The new TPBK evens the transition out now. *I must have been too quick of a reader as I JUST NOW noticed that the land being cleared was for a sanitarium. Did that ever come up again after JB left?

Loved this book. Excited to have the third volume out. I am still hopeful for an Alpha Flight Omnibus.

I can not believe that's what they went for, for the cover. Way to absolutely spoil the one big reveal of this storyline. If I buy this for my son, I'll have to rip the cover off of it.

I have to admit that I don't get the comments that the second trade paperback's cover is a spoiler. How is it more of a spoiler than it was on the cover of issue #12? It doesn;t even include the words that "...one will surely die." So, all you know is that somebody is gunning for the team. The retouching and coloring job on the new cover I don't like, but I wouldn't call it a spoiler cover.

must have been too quick of a reader as I JUST NOW noticed that the land being cleared was for a sanitarium. Did that ever come up again after JB left? * * * I am pretty sure it did. If I recall correctly, Mantlo moved AF into the house as their HQ and the sanitorium came into some where. In truth, have tried to erase the post-JB plotlines from my mind so may well be remembering incorrectly.
