Love the banner, wow 50 years, one of the great tv memories of my childhood.I`ve said it before and i`ll say it again,Gerry Anderson ought to be as respected as Walt Disney. It saddens me that he is suffering from Alzheimer`s.

It was certainly a surprise to hear the "Fireball-XL5 end theme song" throughout the HBO miniseries From Earth to the Moon episode "Spider".

John OConnor, that is very close to where i live, but i`ll be attending the memorabilia show at Birmingham on the Sunday,as will Shane Rimmer.I did see a free Gerry Anderson exhibition at Wolverhampton library about 20 years ago,it had props, vehicles, puppets from most of Gerry`s shows including the live action ones.

Birmingham. . .   Wolverhampton. . .

Names out of my Past!

(When I parodied Wolverine in "Smacks of Vengeance" in WHAT THE?!? I was tempted to call him Wolverhampton, but I figured not enough non-Btitish fans would GET it!)

Saw Gerry Anderson years ago at Birmingham a great night and he sure does like Gabrielle Drake.

J.B. R.A.F. Cosford is only a few miles from Ha`penny Green, which you referenced in Cold War with Tu`penny Green.

Also, mention of Gabrielle Drake reminded me of her role in low budget soap Crossroads, set in a hotel on the outskirts of Birmingham,i also remember her playing the lead in pantomime at Wolverhampton in the 70`s,playing Robin Hood i think...she had a VERY nice legs!

I was born in '73. Gerry Anderson's work never really trickled there
way to our television. I now have a three year old boy who I think
would really enjoy his shows. Fireball XL5 being in black and white
might be a problem though. I haven't adjusted him to b&w yet.

Tell him evil aliens have stolen all the world's color and it's part of Steve Zodiac's assignment to get it back. By the time he realizes that ain't so, he should be hooked!

Heh, that's a thought. The earliest I was able to convert a child was
with my ex's, then seven year old. He watched Frankenstein, Bride Of
Frankenstein and Captain Blood with me. At that point, he decided
b&w was ok.

Didn't Fireball XL5 eventually get broadcast in color? If I tell him about
the evil aliens, he's gonna be looking for the payoff.
