In northeastern PA, I find myself having cancelled all appointments for tomorrow, based on information that tonight into tomorrow we will be hit hardest, with 60-70 mile winds and 6-8 inches of rain. Possible loss of power for up to 5 days, according to predictions. I've seen a few photos comparing Sandy to Irene and they have raised my eyebrows, giving me a better sens of the potential destruction upcoming. Be safe all.

Power has flickered out twice, but only for a second or two.

Time to re-read those issues and figure out how the Byrne Curse may strike this time?

Nothing on the level of those on the east coast, but in NE Ohio it has been non-stop rainstorms since last night. They even canceled all Trick or Treat gatherings this week. Pushing them back until this weekend.

Well, there goes my power. I heard a "boom" outside. Must have been a transformer.

Still have power in my little corner of New Jersey, but the winds are blowing mighty fierce!

One flicker about 20 minutes ago, but I still have power.
It seems from the news that the hurricane is hitting my corner of NY-Long Island right this second with the most force it will have.

Winds have picked up considerably here, but still only moderate rain.
My biggest concern at this point is one of my cats is outside. I know she's under the porch, about as safe and dry as she can be outside, but I'd feel better if I could get her in.
