Thought that, too, after last year's Halloween storm (I'm in CT.), but figured, "Nah... I mean, what are the odds of the same thing happening again at the same time next year...?" D'OH!!!

My dad has a backup plan -- two fully fueled-up cars with a lighter plug adapter for a quick hookup... to the sump pump. Just in case. The storm track has been going back and forth all weekend between making that westward swerve halfway between Cape May and NYC, and making the swerve closer to Cape May, or even crossing the Delaware Bay. Right now, the NOAA has the cone centering on a line crossing the southern tip of New Jersey and going over the river right at the Pennsylvania state line. Wherever it's going, it'll be a rough day on the job going into Monday afternoon, and Tuesday is going to be spent looking at the aftermath.

Everything around me in the NYC area is getting shut down. And yet the weather forecast just said maybe as little as 2 inches of rain by me. Seems they expecting tidal floods mostly. I'm not even hearing concerns about high winds.

Went to the local Lowe's to pick up a generator on Friday. Ended up at #413 on the waiting list. Oy.

Ebay had a generator as one of their Daily Deals a few days ago.... gotta love it...
Good luck and be safe to everyone up north! I've got friends and family stretching from Delaware to northern New England.

The kids are ecstatic!

I will be flying into the D.C. area on Thursday. Looks like I should miss the brunt of the storm. Best wishes to all those effected.
