I guess it wasn't imagination. It was made by the same company that had a similar toy called Starbird.

I didn't remember that.  Very cool!  The pic second from the right on the front of the box looks like the RELIANT.  Did they make a RELIANT also?

The ship could be disassembled and reconfigured.

I'll keep that in mind David!

I have been buying up anything Captain America I can find...that are not just plain ridiculous! There is a bendy Cap on card that has a $1,200 Buy it Now price on eBay. It has been on for over a year. Maybe in a few months the price will drop to $1,100! :-p

Major Matt Mason (figures, play-sets and accessories)
------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------
I'm hoping Tom Hanks gets his Major Matt Mason movie made in hopes  some of the vintage toys get re-issued. Those ebay prices are crazy!

There's one toy that I had that I haven't found yet, at least partially because I don't remember what it was called.

It was a truck toy.  About twelve inches long.  It was a red Chevy Blazer or Ford Bronco with a white roof.  You could remove the body, and underneath was a dune buggy of sorts, with an extendable nose to turn it into a dragster.  It may or may not have been motorized.

I would love to find one, not necessarily because it was cool, but because it's memory has haunted me for so long...
