Over the years I have been very fortunate in being able to track down childhood toys I remembered fondly. Prompted by this thread I have been giving it some thought, and I honestly don't think there are any "holy grails" left to be sought out!

I wanted the Kenner Death Star play set, but my good friend down the street had it so it all worked out. It was huge and we played with the darned thing almost daily after school. My friend Mark also had about 20 storm troopers with which to enact the various scenes from the movie because he thought, quite accurately for age 12 years old, "You can never have too many storm troopers".

Adventure People!!! Oh, how I loved those!  The Space Shuttle like vehicle was awesome.  The seaplane, the boat, etc, etc....

Man, the Adventure People Space Shuttle!
Probably my best toy ever. I had to get eye surgery in 2nd grade, in 1981(?) and before the surgery there was a Space Shuttle in the area that the surgery kids got to play. Man, I loved that thing and when I got home my dad went out and tracked one down and bought it for me. Best toy ever.

Side note: During the surgery, I was knocked out and I vividly remember at one point kind of waking up in a haze and hearing someone say "Oh no, he's waking up!" Then I was out again.

I had the Adventure People Recue Helicopter. That was a very cool
line of toys.

Eric, I had the Death Star Playset. Definitely one of the cooler toys I
ever had.

A favorite of mine was the KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE dolls by Mego.

I had all the super-heros and Planet of the Apes Mego stuff, but I remember havng the most fun with the Knights.

I had the Death Star playset.  It got more usage than any other toy I've ever owned, even after I moved on to G.I. Joe.  It made for a great Cobra base, too.

I collected Hot Wheels as a kid.  I had a collection of cars back in the late 60's through mid 70's that would be a treasure trove today.

My favorites among my collection were the awesome little Jack Rabbit Special...

and the equally awesome Red Baron!

Between Hot Wheels, classic G.I. Joes and 60's/70's era Marvel Comics my childhood was pretty damned sweet!

My original Legos sets.  I miss them!

I also gave away an action figure SDF-1 (the mile-long transforming battle fortress from the "Robotech" cartoon).  My cousin may have it.  Or not... he's all grown up now.
