I always wanted a GI Joe frogman but they were never available in Canada.

There was an episode of Seinfeld in the 9th season (the best episode) when he dates a woman who had a collection of vintage toys (including that GI Joe).  She wouldn't let him play with them, so he drugged her so that she'd fall asleep and then play with the toys when she was unconsious.  Later, George and Elaine were lured in (Elaine with the "Easybake Oven" - "You know that mix is 30 years old...."). This was also the episode when Kramer pulled out the remains of the Johnny Carson Tonight show set and set it up in his apartment.

Jerry Seinfeld playing with the GI Joe Frogman was me living though him!

Ryan-Energized Spider-Man was a let-down. He was a plastic statue with a cruddy flashlight and a bad motorized hook/string. One of those toys you thought was going to be awesome, but got bored with in 5 minutes...

Shame.
I've kept or repurchased at least 90% of my childhood toys. Energized Spider-man is not one that I've kept. That's how lame I thought he was as a kid.

Rom was much much much cooler. He was articulated, had lights and sounds, and different weapons. He made different sounds depending on which buttons you pressed on his back (breathing, jet pack, laser, etc...)

It was actually extremely cool at the time, as no other action figures did this.

But...but...the commercials said it was amazing...  They wouldn't lie...

Good to know, my inner 6 year-old is happy.

Ryan- All Remco had the rights to do were basically SuperHero statues with some lights and maybe a motorized "something". They did a Spider-Man, Batman & Superman that were all kinda the same. Then they had a Captain America with a spinning shield, and a Hulk toy that did...something.

They were all kinda lame (although I'd love to have the Batman one. I don't think I've ever seen the dang thing)...

I had the Energized Spider-Man. I recall being disappointed because he didn't move from that position.

I think that's what ultimately made me not bug my parents for him.  Dragging your knuckles on the bottom of a helicopter rotor isn't too cool.

Thom, I had the Dungeon game also. I really liked it as well. It was another victim of a garage sale by my parents.

As far as Megos, I don't remember seeing any of them growing up. This was during their prime years also! Evel Knievel was a big hit at my house as well as.

The Fisher Price High Adventure sets were great. Here's a pic of a set I found online. I had this and a few other sets.

I had almost all of the Megos in the 70's, K-Mart, Gulf-Mart, J.M. Fields and TG&Y were the best places to buy them.
