Here is a sketch I did for my sons for a drawing lesson. It is to show action and to build a figure up from a stick figure.

Here's what's in my sketchbook.  The first one is a concept sketch, and the last one is a page from a short story Jeremy Nichols (who posts on here occasionally) and I did.  He's the writer.
