This from the press release:
"Superheroes and Beyond" produced by BattleWorlds (www.battleworlds.com) comic book creator George Edwards
The Golden State Pops Orchestra (GSPO) (www.gspo.com) performed its movie music symphony concert at the Bristol Civic Auditorium in Bellflower, CA. The show was a great success, and was a unique experience for audiences. Not only did they experience movie music from Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, X-Men, but they also witnessed the world premiere of music from BattleWorlds.
"This has never been done before. BattleWorlds has just made comic book and entertainment history. This is the first time a comic book creator teams up with a film music composer to score the soundtrack to a comic book", says Mr. Edwards. "Usually when a comic book is adapted to a movie, the score is composed during production or post-production of the movie adaptation, never in the comic book stages. To put it into perspective, how cool would it have been if Siegel and Shuster teamed up with John Williams to score his Superman suite for Action Comics No. 1! I am very pleased with this first score- the BattleWorlds Overture; it feels epic, like the call of mythic Olympian champions. In the end, we will release 10 symphonic tracks that captures the character and action of the amazing BattleWolrds universe.
The BattleWolrlds Overture was accomanied by a theatrical video projection of animation from BattleWorlds.
The GSPO is also the only POPS entity that combines pops symphony and visual entertainment.
Here are the key art and collateral items I designed and produced for the show. Hope you like it!

I (second from back) was the control room manager that day. My technical assistants.

Before the show, I sat onstage and spoke to the audience while doing a quick mega drawing
 Mega 12 inch statue.
Design notes: I went ahead and used the color halftone "dot patterns" as one of the visual motifs to represent a comic book vibe. Even though superheroes is more a genre than a medium, it seems that people still strongly identify superheroes to comic books, so I based my designs on the old printing processes. Also notice the 70's comic book cover design.
Well that's it for now. It's been a great day, and now I'll take a break. Keep on posting your stuff, gang. Always love to see your work.
