Hello everyone,

I have attached 14 jpgs of my original artwork.

(1) "Alien A Nightmare Reborn" is a pen and ink illustration of an Alien Queen (Based on the Dark Horse comics and the Alien films) hatching from an egg.

(2) "Behold the Power of Thor" is an illustration of Thor (from Marvel Comics) about to land on a city street with bystanders and a cop on the scene. The pencils were done by my friend Tribble. The inks were done by me, Mike Rouse. The art is poster size and it took me over 10 hours to ink it. The art has lots of detail including the brick within the buildings. <>

(3) "Alternate Ending to Crisis on Infinite Earths" is an unfinished poster size pencil and ink illustration that depicts all of earths mightiest DC Comics heroes fallen in battle against the Anti-Monitor. Behind the Anti-Monitor and Psycho Pirate is Darkseid emerging from a boom tube and unleashing his lethal power from his eyes in a last ditch sneak attack in hopes of destroying the Anti-Monitor.

(4) "Consumed by the Dark Arts" is a pencil illustration of a warlock that has become consumed by the chaotic forces of Dark Magic.

(5) "Grendel Eternal" is a pen and ink illustration of Grendel (from the publisher Comico) killing a previous Grendel. The idea behind the drawing is that to become Grendel is to become a doomed soul that is destined to become consumed internally by darkness and die a violent death, only to be replaced by a new incarnation of Grendel.

(6) "Iron Man cover pencil sketch" is a pencil illustration of Iron Man (from Marvel Comics) in various armor. The versions of armor are from issues 200, 159 and earlier is the first series. The art also depicts one of the versions of Iron Man flying up above with the Iron Man logo blasting out of his two repulser rays from his hands.

(7) "Dragons Lair" is a pen and ink illustration of a dragon in a cave with treasure, gold coins, bones, skulls, lava, jagged rocks, and flame in the surroundings.

(8) "Phoenix Flames close up" is a pen and ink illustration (close up of poster size artwork) that depicts Phoenix (from Marvel Comics) in the night sky with stars around her as she uses her power to create a Phoenix bird of fire.

(9) "Phoenix Flames" is a pen and ink illustration (poster size artwork) that depicts Phoenix (from Marvel Comics) in the night sky with stars around her as she uses her power to create a Phoenix bird of fire.

(10) "Sauron in the Savage Land" is a pen and ink illustration that simply depicts Sauron (from Marvel Comics) in the Savage Land.

(11) "She Hulk up close" is a pen and ink illustration that simply depicts my version of She Hulk (from Marvel Comics) leaning on a chrome plated bar bell set.

(12) "Lady Smiles" is a pen and ink illustration that simply depicts an attractive woman smiling.

(13) "Warming up" is a pen and ink illustration that simply depicts my version of She Hulk posing in a weight lifting gym.

(14) "Werewolf" is a pen and ink illustration that depicts a full moon over a werewolf that has just killed a man. In a brief moment of defiance, the man only has time to give the werewolf the finger before being decapitated. I was inspired by Berni Wrightson's artwork in the illustrated novel "Cycle of the Werewolf".

Please post a reply and let me know what you think.

Mike from Kansas City

PS. My dream is to one day ink a page of John Byrne's art or (crossing my fingers) an entire comic or cover by the legend.
