Hey all,

I'm new here (as far as posting anyway) and let me first say how awesome a site this is.  It's great to know that John Byrne is still a presence in the comic world.  It's also great that you can have threads like this where people can post their art.  A lot of great stuff here, though, unfortunately, I wasn't able to see all the images.

Anyway, here're a couple of animal drawings:

Nice, Anthony, I see you're a fan of both Bruce Timm and Mike Mignola.

Thanks, Mark.

BTW, here's a link I forgot to post:  http://www.alandavis-comicart.com/

I'd be willing to bet there are fans of Alan Davis here.  If there aren't, there should be ;-)

Actually, going back to that debate about Bryan Hitch, about 300 pages or so back, Hitch's earlier work very much resembled Davis's .  Hitch has come into his own since, of course (for one thing, his work is more detailed than Davis's), but the overall feel is still the same, as is the attention to quality.

Mary, I remember his work on Excalibur fondly.  Some of my favorite comics ever.

Paolo...he sent me an e-mail (it was on my birthday...which was fantastic timing to receive it!) apologizing that he had no time to do a commission request, but thanked me for my praise of his work! He is working at half-speed lately...don't know why?...he said. Wrote 178 pages of story and just wanted to see my last scene immortalized...rats!! Have to do it myself! (Except I am no immortal!)

Thanks for the compliment, AJL.  I must say, I admire your stuff as well.

Here are a couple of comic-related sketches/illustrations.  I do a bit of those, but not at the level I'd like (don't seem to have the time/energy).  Anyway, here goes:

BTW, love the no-wider-than-600px rule.  Brilliant.

That's ok by me.  To be honest, I like the look of pencils better than finished art.  I think there's a bit of a loss when pencils have been inked.  Thanks for the compliment, btw.
