Mac- great Wolverine art, nicely done. You show solid anatomy, good inks, but you have another talent that sets you a notch higher: Based on what I've seen in your work, you find the signature poses that defines the characters you draw, and find the optimum dynamics. Your poses consistently "hit the right notes". And you also do great Byrne tributes, which is a plus
Marcus- very nice classic Marvel-- I like the detailing. You're establishing something important for draftsmanship- and that's attention to all the little details. The outfit details of Thor are different to Hercules, good spotting. The poses are attack poses, all good. So it's a good piece. And yes, when I first saw that photo, I thought of Kirby- amazing how life imitates art with this one. Jolly Jack must've drawn several panels & covers that look just like that. You can't go wrong emulating King Kirby.
Chris- Fankenstein! I like how you incorporated the Boris Karloff look. I've seen many famous Frankenstein monster interpretations. Much respect to the costume designers of other film versions, but to me the Karloff design is the archetype that has iconic recognition. Your sketch is a good example of how important the Karloff photo reference influences a rendition. You're getting better- keep it up!!
Nice work everyone. I'm seeing progress every page- let's keep it up!
