GREAT WORK GUYS!!!
Amazing, the level of talent we have here.
Im still in awe, this thread started as lark( my opinion) and grew
into something so revelant in the forum.
Congrats to all of you who have contributed generously.
MARCUS- Heres a preview of the latest BIBLE HEROES.
Abraham Part1 of 5.
These are done on 8x11 and colored in photoshop (3 layers).
My editors expect a quick turnaround so i try to do layouts and
complete colors in 2 days.
And the layouts for Part2.
BTW, Im agnostic. :)

WOW! That is really cool. I thought that you may have worked small, seeing that the strip is printed on a 1/2 page and you got so much detail into it. It is ironic that you're agnostic. The BSA should look into collecting Bible Heroes into a trade. Since all Cub and Boy Scouts automatically receive Boy's Life I think more people see this work than any comic.

Good morning guys! The girl here. Tell me how to get over fear of inking! I love my pencils, but I am terrified of the permanence of inks...arghhh! Here's a pic...and the top half? I am playing with that. The kiss was more..entertaining?

One way I got over my fear of inking was to stop doing full pencils...that way
if I ruined it I was just ruining a bunch of scratches that didn't amount to
much. These days when I'm doing an actual page of comic art (I'm working
on something bwa-hahaha) I don't necessarily even finish laying out the
page before I start inking. As soon as something is just the way I want it I
ink it in.
Also, you can just practice your inking on any little sketch you do.

Thanks, Stephen..you're fast on the reply!! It is hard, isn't it? Especially when you get a feeling going and you like your lines! And then to have to go and dad-blamed erase the whole thing just because you have to ink it.

Pretty much what Stephen said. Inking takes a degree of confidence.
However, if you don't already have one, buy yourself a "lightbox"
[exactly what it sounds like] and ink on seperate paper and in that way
you'll always retain your pencils, should you come a cropper during the
inking stage.

Mary, your pencils there look great. Very natural-looking forms. I think that possibly you would be more eager to ink your work if you used more shadow and dark areas. I find that after I pencil, I can't wait to start on the inks so as to get an even area of black.

Thank you, Greg. That injects a little boost of confidence! I appreciate it.Darren... I will get a light box, and try to overcome the "Terror That Walks in Black"...i.e.India Ink. I may sacrifice my pencil up there in an experiment though. If you hear a scream that shakes the world, you will know what has happened. Ah, well! If at first you don't succeed...
