On the canvass!? Is this for painting later? If it is then your 'detail' is added at that stage not during the pencilling stage.

Pemcilling on canvas? I would use a soft pencil 4B-6B. Dwayne good storytelling, Shane nice work and MAC as always a joy to look at. I aslo enjoy your work in Boy's Life (my kids get it). Here is another commision,

Hmm, thanks lads. I was just wondering if there was anything to smooth the surface a little to get better pencil detail, but I see I'm gunna have to do it the hard way and paint my lil heart out! lol.

Marcus, I really dig your style, cool work.

Signing in for just a moment--

Anthony- Nice Vampirella piece!
Son-of Anthony- impressive start--great work, keep it up! (we're all in trouble!) :)
MAC- the Valiant poster is great!!! Dynamic and signature character poses, realistic anatomy, fantastic composition.
Shane- good sketches-nice contrast
Dwayne- very good pages. lots of detail.
Marcus- Spidey vs. Scorpion- nice!

By the way, since I like to constantly learn, I'll share a few items: Wizard came out with this paperback on drawing comics, featuring many great artists. You might want to check it out. And if you haven't picked this other paperback yet, Drawing Comics the Marvel Way by Stan Leee/Buscema is an old classic great, highly recommended.

New BattleWorlds post!

Here's a BattleWorlds: FutureWar ensemble cast shot. Keep up the good work everyone!!! Keep drawing, keep learning!  GE

John- Thanks. And I think you're right about WW. Nice drawing!

Chris- Aww, it is just a bit of an old school style and by the way I just thought that maybe canvas board might be smoother than canvas and maybe if you gesso the surface first on either might smooth it out for drawing a little. Also,  I really like your post, a very natural pose.
