Frankly, I'm waiting for the entire bullpen from EIC to the current crop of writers to just get swept out of there, and their places taken by some intelligent young men and women who actuall enjoy working on comics and want to make them fun and accessible for readers again for a change...

Writers today seem so bloodthirsty that I waiting for them to just write a story where all the heroes kill each other in the most ways possible.

===== Jim Starlin should co-write it with Garth Ennis.
I'm not surprised by the X-Men news. In there minds, the only way to make big event seem epic, is by killing a prominent character. Avengers Disassembled killed Hawkeye. He's back. Civil War killed Captain America. He's back. Fear Itself killed Bucky Cap. He's back. I didn't read House of M so I don't know who died in that one. Secret Invasion killed Wasp. She's actually stayed dead up to this point.
BTW, this is something like the third time this X-character has died.

This character also was
INVISO TEXT (Click or highlight to reveal):
castigated for ignoring and siliencing the voice of the newly-sentient Danger Room after he'd installed Shi'Ar technology into its systems. |
|
|
That, combined with
INVISO TEXT (Click or highlight to reveal):
his getting an entire team of young X-Men killed in-between panels of Giant Size X-Men #1 |
|
|
means that he really wasn't about optimism or ethics or anything by this point. But having
INVISO TEXT (Click or highlight to reveal):
|
is a truly souless and creatively bankrupt move.No one is good anymore. It's not even close. There are simply no heroes. Just... murderers with varying degrees of self-acceptance concerning the matter. And Stephen, didn't Marvel also just recently kill and resurrect Johnny Storm? The big fallout from House of M was the Scarlet Witch's pronouncement that there be "No More Mutants." I don't know whether this has been technically undone at this point, but it did result the deaths of numerous previously-empowered mutants who were now left with no means of defending themselves.

Didn't the legion of Superheroes already do this Schtick two reboots ago in the late 80's or early 90's? *** Yes. That was the Batch SW6 Legion.

Okay I got an idea for another cross over miniseries:
No! Hear me out! If Earth is to live, then HALF of Ms. Marvel must die! And then she'll be half robot! Text XXXXX to decide which half of her dies! ( 8 possible options : front vs.back, top vs. bottom, left vs. right, diagonal "motley split", or 50% by volume to be randomly distributed later by this creepy iPhone app we found!)
Last issue of the series comes with a cutaway anatomical diagram poster of post half-dead Ms. Marvel.

Honestly? Part of me wishes they would kill them all off and end the whole thing.
It's a great time to not care. As I haven't for years.

If Garth Ennis wrote Peanuts it would start with Charlie Brown in prison plotting vengeance against Linus for slitting his dog's throat and framing him for the crime. It would end with Linus setting Charlie Brown on fire and Charlie Brown in agony jumping off of a dam towards the water thinking "There ain't no #@#$ing justice."
