"Even money that cover came before the story inside!" JB, was that a common occurance back then? Who came up with the covers, the editors? Just curious.

Yes, editors would come up with cover concepts, give them to an artist, and then hand the finished drawing to a writer and say "Come up with a story for this."Discovering this was how it was often done explained to me, retroactively, why so many comics had cover scenes that were barely in the story!

Wow! That seems like such a round-about way to get a story done. I love finding out stuff like this...I find it fascinating.

It's awful! Now how will I ever find a comic about a straight white male?

I guess that us plain old straight white men have just gone out of fashion. Don't worry. There's a utopian Golden Age that you can pretend existed where everything was good for the straight white man and nobody else mattered. Depending on whether you're Republican or not, it could've existed anywhere from 30-50 years ago. The rest of us will hide in the closet until you're done feeling sorry for yourself.

None of this is really suprising. Ever since the New 52 started, Hal Jordan has been a supporting character in Green Lantern IMO.

OK, I have to stop reading book related news stories. My hair's grey enough as it is.
