 QUOTE:
So, I'm assuming most of those writers have been molested (or wanted to molest someone) during their lives. Such an obsession!

Maybe Marvel and DC need to get some proper psychological counseling for their creative teams
Bit like saying any writer who has a murder in their stories wants to kill someone.

Ok, guys! I exagerated a bit, but you get my point. It's worn out already.

What was your point? That rape is over done in today's comics? That you're tired of seeing it stories?

I think they did that in New Teen Titans when Dick and Kory had sex.

"No exceptions. I see. In that case, I suggest you start rounding up all the other non-human beings who may be having relationships outside their species.... I mean, if you want to take this all the way, non-humanity doesn't end with the Swamp Thing. Let me see... You'll possibly have to arrest Hawkman... and Metamorpho... And there's also Starfire from the Titans. Her race evolved from cats, I believe... The Martian Manhunter, obviously. Captain Atom... And then of course there's What's-His-Name... The one who lives in Metropolis."

In Superman's case, I believe we'd be the beasts in that scenario.

The comments section of the Amethyst review mentions that Amy is threatened with rape in the first issue of her comic from 1983. Which, looking at the issue, turns out to be true. She's threatened with rape twice within the space of a single page. First when captured, she is brought before the master villian's aide and told that she is to be killed, although once his master sees her "great beauty, perhaps he will not be so hasty to put you to death." Ogres lead her away to a dark corridor and begin undressing. They tell her to "be nice. This will be easier if you cooperate."

All of this occurs literally within moments of her having mysteriously transformed into an adult woman from a thirteen year old girl.

So... had to two scenes been reversed and the actions described above taken place in her Nu52 debut, the writer would no doubt be taken to task for darkening what was "originally" a scene of a kick-ass, punker chick kicking the hell out of three boys who'd tricked an insecure girl into a threatening situation behind the bleachers.

Of course, there could theoretically be a girl's comic printed someday wherein the heroine or her friends are not threatened with rape, but that would be relatively rare in comics, to say nothing of fantasy and romance fiction.
