Hmmm... JB's submarine looks like a fusion of both U.S. and Russian Navy designs.

[Edit]  I stand corrected:  It's the advanced sail (conning tower) design for the later submarines of the Virginia-Class

Never let it be said that I don't do my homework!

(Frequently I DON'T -- I just don't want it SAID!)

Really love how you drew the water covering the submarine. Very
realistic.

That was my first thought when I saw the page Paul. JB, if this were a
war comic, ( and I don't know that it is or isn't ), I sincerely believe Joe
Kubert would have been proud of you for that panel. Beautiful work. I
think it's some of your best water ever, if that makes any sense.

As usual, a caution against speculation. Even when "joking", someone might hit too close to home, and spoil the series.

Indeed.  Since I've inadvertently done this a few times in the past (most notably the mechanism of Bethany's survival into the future, Gil's cloned bodies and the ethics thereof) I'm voluntarily opting out of this thread.  Period.

JB -- will this series be connected to any of your other "universes"?

••

Yes and no.

And that may be one of the few times in history that phrase has been used as the honest answer, and not as an equivocation!

Damn it.  With that answer you've definitely 'peeked' my interest. :-)  It's going to be very hard to stay out of the discussion because I think I know where you're going with this!

Resisting.

Thanks. The image is a combination of photo reference and asking myself "How would Jack Kirby have stylized this?"

Here's another peek -- this morning's work -- that should make it even HARDER to figure out what this is all about!

The art is quite nice, but I guess I'm still waiting to know about the story.

I love how you express that firearms have weight to them.

I really dig the way JB draws civilians just as well (if not better than) superheroes.
