See how the modern "Bullpen" misses the whole point? These are COMIC BOOK CHARACTERS, they don't need to be practical.

That "Havok" costume on the previous page is pretty lame. Basically, it takes Neal's original and makes it EASIER TO DRAW. No more having to worry about silhouette or how those concentric rings "work".It's like somebody described the original to an artist completely unfamiliar with it, and he missed some of the key points. Pathetic.

"The Scarlet Witch has always had one of the least practical costumes for a super hero…"A one-piece bathing suit and a cape. Huh?

Whoever made the notes on that Scarlet Witch design doesn't seem to know that scarlet is a distinctive shade of red - and not like "crimson". If today's colouring techniques are in any way an advance, it should be a simple matter to get something like that just right.

And yet.. it will somehow take longer to draw it!

Totally impractical for probability-influencing. Proper attire has "always" been leather duster and thigh-high boots, but creative teams in the past have "always" ignored this protocol. Head-gear is optional, as "always", and as a nod to those benighted creators of yore (Kirby, Heck, Buscema, et al) Marvel NOW will keep a head piece on Wanda.

Those designs are terrible. Well, just further proof that Marvel is no longer mine to read. I'm in with Terry and Bill. As a reader, I feel like I've been show the door several times over the last ten years. I guess I've over stayed my welcome as they've finally gotten around to throwing me out of it.

Why would Wanda even need a more practical outfit? It's not like she engages in hand-to-hand combat with any frequency, nor is she doing a great deal of acrobatics. She should theoretically be able to wear the least practical outfit from Lady Gaga's wardrobe and still be able to dole out hexes with a high degree of efficiency.
The main thing I'm getting from the Havoc design is that it'll date quickly, seeing how it looks to be based upon the current trend of wearing a tight Under Armor long-sleeve T with baggy jeans or fatigues. Come to think of it, isn't that look already dated?

Glen, you don't know what you say! Someone from Marvel will read that and we'll be forced to see the Scarlet Witch in Lady Gaga's meat dress!

Good costume designers like the Gil Kanes, John Romitas, and Dave Cockrums are a thing of the distant past. They belong to the SILVER AGE.
Currently we are in The GARB-AGE.
(You heard it here first!)

Bill, given the tenor of Marvel's output in recent years, that meat dress Wanda's wearing will probably be made from the butchered form of someone she loves or a teammate. It would have to be someone known yet deemed temporarily expendable by current editors. Who could it be? Hawkeye's a good go-to temporarily dead guy, but he's a little overused in that department recently. Ditto Cap. Tigra, maybe? Moondragon? Simon would be a cool choice, but sadly is not actually made of meat... She could have team-ups and cook-outs with the Mark Waid leather-armored Doctor Doom! MarvelNow! The Smokehouse of Ideas!

I don't know about a meat dress, but all this talk has put an image of the Scarlet Witch sitting at a table at the House Of Ribs chowing down on a rack of baby backs with BBQ sauce all over her mouth when her Avenger's ID card calls her to duty. Maybe MarvelNow! could make that a twelve issue storyline.
