It'll be difficult not to buy this title, mainly because of JRJR on the art. Why couldn't they put him on the title when Cap's costume actually looked like his costume...damn... ==== I wish John Jr. the best with this but I just can't do it.

I was reading an article with Tom Brevoort and he said that the costume has been redesigned to fit in with the gear an actual soldier wears. I blame Bryan Hitch for all this honestly.

Yes..because Captain America has to dress and act like a regular soldier. Let's just remove all the super from our superheroes.

Don't these guys get that Cap isn't an "actual soldier"? But I guess this is coming from the same kind of minds that put Superman in a t-shirt, jeans and combat boots, y'know, because that's what an "actual" man wears.
Real world analogs work fine for some characters (The Sub-Mariner should look like a swimmer, the Flash should look like a runner), but not for all. Cap doesn't fight in the same way as a combat soldier, nor under the same sorts of conditions. "Actual soldiers" don't jump and perform acrobatics whilst running into combat. They don't fling large discus shaped objects at their foes. They usually only engage in close quarters hand-to-hand combat as a LAST resort. (replace the bit about the shield with wearing a cape, and you have an argument why it's ridiculous for Batman to dress like a S.W.A.T. member)

The idea of Captain America looking like a solider is kind of funny when you consider for at least the last 10 years and maybe longer, in Captain America's book, he's been Captain America, super spy, not Super-soldier.

If they want to draw soldiers Marvel should bring back war comics.

======= Interesting considering Captain America is a Super Soldier not a regular one. Or is everyone the the Military now going to be issued unbreakable shields? Maybe they're trying to make his uniform closer to what we saw in he movie? Nah, they wouldn't do that, would they?

Remember that Marvel gave SHIELD agents Iron Man's armor a few years ago, so why wouldn't they give soldiers Captain America's shield? I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't interested in what they're going to do with Marvel Now! but outside of a few creative names, I don't really see a whole lot to get excited for. I'll probably just stay with the few Marvels that I buy now.

Thank GOD people like Brevoort finally came along to clean up their shit! It's a pure MIRACLE Marvel managed to scrape by with just barely enough sales to survive, until the current brain trust arrived to send everything skyrocketing!!

When, when, when will the current regime at M***** finally wake up and realize that Captain America is supposed to be a superhero first, and a super soldier second?

Why would Captain America need "the gear an actual soldier wears"? He's not on a battlefield. He's not fighting a war. Even in his adventures in the Golden Age he wasn't storming beachheads or assaulting the enemy position. I think Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan screwed the perception of what/who Captain America is. A boots on the ground grunt he is not. I f you want to write that guy, do a Sgt Rock book. I was gonna say Sgt Fury, but he's not quite boots on the ground either.
Cap shouldn't dress like a soldier or a SWAT officer. He a superhero of the costumed athlete variety.

Apparently coming to the future robs you of your ability to smile.
Also, I HATE that Immonen got rid of the bagginess of Beast's uniform.
