There used to be an office joke that if Iron Man was a DC character, his real name woulde be Guy Steel.

I've never been a fan of names like "Victor Fries" or "Edward Nigma"
Not sure a company with an eight limbed character with the last name of "Octavius" can make that joke.

Weird thing is I teach a kid called James Howlett in my Chemistry class. He is...not like Wolverine.

My name's James. I hated it when Logan became James. He's not a James. He's a Logan. He is Logan. And he certainly ain't a Howlett

That's what I didn't get about Origin. If you're telling that story in that way, why not just make his "real" name, Logan Howlett or James Logan?

Because, man....Marvel was blowing our minds! Everything is so different from what we thought. The heads at Marvel are so brilliant! (that was said, of course, with sarcasm)

More DC Captain America names could be "Hugh Esseigh" or Alexander Merica.

Hi Mr Byrne,
Could you tell us which one was this singel panel you often refer to ? (all of that sprang from a single panel! A single panel in which Chris scuttled my carefully plotted storyline, and robbed the X-Men of the clean, clear WIN I was so sure I had given them.)
