That's pretty much everything that went wrong with the X-Men summed up in one statue! Yes, but the (then) young teen in me was rather fond of her attire. I rather disliked the whole Inferno storyline tho.

Was Chris Claremont a fan of the folk band Steeleye Span? Their singer is/was called Maddy Prior, and when she appeared in X-Men in the 80`s `All Around My Hat` popped into my head.

Chris took a lot of his names and titles from pop culture. Days of Future Past was a Moody Blues album. "Logan" more than likely came from a well known sci fi film.

I'll admit that the name Logan just seems perfect for Wolverine.

It's fine sprinkled in from time-to-time, but it shouldn't dominate the title like it has occasionally. *** Agreed.

Yeah, I was going to add "and don't get me started about James Howlett!" but I felt it wasn't even worth giving that name attention!
I love how "Logan" works as both a first and last name, too.

…James Howlett…•• That name is just TOO precious, isn't it? Oh, look! It has "howl" in it! Not sure what to say about someone named Jemas naming a charater "James", tho. Pure coincidence, I'm sure.

I don't think I was terribly bothered about the X-Men being in space until that long (to me, anyway) "Brood" storyline. |

I'm of the same mind when it came to Claremont's run post-Byrne. The Brood came close to being my own personal "Argh!" moment, but I stuck around too long after that until he finally induced it with the whole "Legendary Outcasts In the Australian Outback" theme, and the "Inferno" crossover which gave us Maddy Prior as Goblin Queen. I recall "nimrod" being an insult used by Moe Howard in the Three Stooges shorts before hearing Bugs Bunny voice it.

That reminds me of the SNL:
Wayne: Brick Hugh, ABC. Geez, I wish that was my name! It sounds like James Bond, you know? [ imitates ] "Hugh. Brick Hugh." Congratulations! Good work, my friend! Okay, Worst Name. CNN Pentagon Correspondent, Wolf Blitzer? Shyeah, right! Garth: It's so obvious the guy made it up for the war! Wayne: Yeah! I know, it's like, "Hi, we now take you to our War Correspondent, Howitzer Explosion Guy."
