Got it.

The good:  I like the background with Number 3 so far.  Looks cool. Can't wait for more background story.

The bad: It's way too short.  I was just getting into it and I have to wait for issue 2.

The strange:  I am probably the only person who thought this, but I saw the Mermaid's shape of mammories and teeth and thought, I hope the infants have no teeth for a long while!  I admit I am weird.

Wallace: Hey, shouldn't Rock be One? :-P

---

I (incorrectly) guessed this at one point in another thread...

Rock = 1

Paper =2

Scissors =3

WRONG! :)

I am looking forward to the origin story of these guys (how their code names and powers were born)  -- but I'm thrilled TRIO started "mid-history"... makes me want to look for TRIO back issues :)

Same here! I'm glad JB decided not to start with an origin story.

JB - Funny you mentioned using similar style as Stan Lee in some parts of the writing.  I thought of him when I had to find out what "habibi" meant.  He used to add big words to the dialogue to get kids to look it up.

Love it!

I have a question, when this characters were created? and in what books they appear before? (I know it were created by Mister Byrne but not sure when/where).

It feel it a little strange in the beginning because I remember Mister Byrne usually re-telling the origen of the characters when he begin a book (Hulk, Superman, F4, etc etc).

Fun, Fun, FUN!   Great superhero storytelliing at its finest!

I love coming into this world 'in medias res'.   Just as in a good movie, it's a treat to just sit back and take it in.

Another title for this issue could have been "Back to The Basics 2"- it just had that kind of energy and flow.

I really like the paper stock- although it's heaver the feel reminds me of the feel of flipping through a comic book as a little boy in the '70s.

JB - thanks for the new characters & stories and congrats on the launch.

I read it again last night - it has the energy and punch of the best superhero books.  NEXT MEN and COLD WAR have been very intense works - full of edge-of-the-seat drama.  TRIO is a welcome blast of superhero fun.  It's such a rewarding experience to follow your work, JB - you shift gears to excellent results!  This is so immediately accessible that any age reader would enjoy this issue.

Carlos, this is the first appearance of TRIO. You have all their appearances starting with issue one.

Nathan, I had not heard of a second variant. I'll check with my LCS to see how many needed ordered to get that one.

Very diggable! I suspect that this series will really sing as a collected edition.

I bought my copy via Comixology and read it on my iPad. Ach, I'm sorry I missed out on the Hembeck cartoon.
