BTW - The cashier where I bought my book mentioned to a co-worker that the book is selling really well.

Hopefully, it will convince you to add another superhero book to your schedule. :-)

Man, this was over too fast! Also, no fair taking Paper out of commission so soon! We barely got to meet her!

Don't know what the sales were like, but I was in "Sarge's" comics, in New London, yesterday, and I noticed with some gratification that they had AFTERMATH, TRIO and the COLD WAR trade on the shelf. Not a lot of copies, but at least they were there!

(I signed them!)

A really fun first issue. Loved the jump right into the action. I particularly liked the pages of One and Two fighting the goons inside the bank. Looking forward to next issue.

7. Have we heard about sales? Is this a series or a mini? I think sales were going to decide that, correct?

••

You keep coming back to this, Nathan. Is my pointed silence not sufficient answer?

Okay, the orders SUCKED.

Happy now?

Question for JB:  Could you share with us some the fun moments you had in creating this first issue?

The biggest fun, of course, was working once again within a "superhero universe". NEXT MEN, as many of you noticed, was more science-fiction, and the superhero element was hardly ever important.

So having the chance, once more, to work on a book where smashing big robots and unleashing giant monsters was "business as usual" was a great deal of fun. Also, the somewhat ramped up soap opera elements, a la Stan Lee, were fun for me.

The LEAST fun was the omniscient narrator. It's been so long since I used one, the muscles were atrophied, and I had to work extra hard to keep the captions from becoming TOO purple!

The whole book had everything I love about comicbooks. Last night I was re-reading it and my wife asked me what I was smiling about.

Loved the entire thing.  Going to reread it today again.

The characters are interesting and the way we jumped right into it all without an origin or a start to how they got their powers left me wanting more.

This thing is fun.  I really like the covers inked by comic greats and the tease of Golgotha coming up.

The change of Rock was cool.  I liked the idea of it being painful.

Orders sucked?  No, that didn't make me happy one bit.

Er... no.

Why in the world would that make me happy??

As I said above, I enjoyed the first issue.

As far as I can tell (I went back and looked through the threads)... I asked once about sales in the "Trio solicit" thread and once in this thread.

I unknowingly brought up a sensitive subject... I honestly didn't understand the question would be upsetting.

Eric: On a similar vain, I was thinking of a Mole Man vs. Nautilus commission each with their respective big creature and minions.

---

That would be cool!
