Finally found a copy!
Picking up this book was a great bit of deja vu for me. My first comic was FF 277, which was in the middle of a storyline but instantly sucked me in and felt new and familiar at the same time.
Captions that don't slow down the story, but tell us all we need. The familiarity of a superhero team with complimentary powers...no need for exposition, fast paced. A highlight for me was the scene on the whaler: The fleeting glimpses that the sailors get of the creatures at first were very cinematic, and conveyed movement so well.
I could yammer more, but everyone else has covered a lot of the same ground. Great job JB.
Was the caption box "There are FORT-SIX of them in the crew" a typo or an affectation?
