I love the paper. Not quite the familiar, comfortable newsprint of old, but loads better than the slick glossy stuff. The coloring is gorgeous. Reminds of me how well Glynis Wein's tones used to look over JB's work. I do like the modern effect used for Rock however. Favorite pages so far have to be the whales and dolphins and the establishing shots on the whaling vessel. I hope this book does well enough to go on for quite a while. Very enjoyable experience.

Little late to the party, I got my copy on Friday. I was nice to see you drawing the superheroes again! Rock is my favorite. I always seem to go for the character that can lift a building (Thing, Superman, Colossus...)
Way to go JB!! You really had me fully engaged and eagerly turning page after page. The artwork was really inspired I thought you are hitting a nice groove, I particularly like where your inking is nowadays.
Even if it's only 4 issues, I'll enjoy the heck out of them!

Thinking about Paper... does she "stretch" like Flatman? I'm trying to picture how those powers work...

JB question on Scissors. Are his blades sharper to infinitity so they actually move between molecules? I know that you posed that theory about Logan's claws at one time.•• My thoughts on Wolverine's claws were to work out, in my own head, how he was able to do things with them that he really should not have been able to -- like slice thru sheet metal, for instance. Scissors is not going to have that problem. I don't intend to EVER draw him doing something with his blades that he shouldn't be able to.

I was thinking about how we would create her in CGI -- and make her have a believable paper texture. Paper doesn't stretch, so I was imagining a spool of paper unraveling or something... something that would actually keep a paper texture.
I guess she's stretching... so maybe she's not actually made of paper.
It was a CGI texture/animation question -- something you don't have to worry about in a 2D comic.

Nathan, I believe that her nickname is paper because she is paper thin not literally paper. JB says their names are 1,2,and 3 but the public gave them the names: Rock, Paper, Scissors. Suspend your disbelief! Lol
