Kirby

Ditko

Trimpe

Byrne

Keown

It was really hard leaving Sal off the list, but Trimpe was the Hulk I knew first. So he gets the edge.

Kirby, especially inked by Ditko.  Ditko.  I liked Bill Everett's take.  Gil Kane.  A number of other good Hulk artists out there could vie for the fifth spot, although I dislike the modern look of the Hulk bulked up to amazing size.

Never much cared for either Sal Buscema's or Herb Trimpe's conception of the Hulk, although I admire aspects of both men's work.

Sal Buscema, John Byrne, Dale Keown, Al Milgrom, and Jack Kirby (Natch).

I am only sure about the order of the first two though.

There's Kirby and Ditko

then way behind are John Buscema, John Byrne and Marie Severin.

I love Sal and Herb too, but I don't know their runs very well.

Any list without Sal Buscema is a list I refuse to acknowledge :-)

------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------

Sal Buscema is a total pro and worthy of great respect, but his artwork doesn't really appeal to me so....he doesn't make my top 5 list.

I've never been a regular reader of the Hulk. I would have been if JB's run had lasted longer, but I've really only read scattered issues over the years, so I'm limiting my list to 3.

Kirby of course.

John Byrne

Sal Buscema, since it seems that almost every pre-JB back issue of Hulk I ever happened to own was drawn by Buscema.
