For the record, I got that calendar from the image WITHOUT the lettering. I got it from the Spider-Man and Reed Richards.

Brian, I don't know if it was just that I bought practically every Marvel comic book that came out when those ads were running, but it was a pretty iconic image for me too.  1981... comics were only $0.50 and most my favorite artists of the time (JB, Perez, Miller, Grell, Sienkiewicz, etc) were working monthly on at least one title and many others were good, too.   A golden age!
