That "face", or something like it, came up in a discussion I had a week or so back with a "spiritual" friend. She could not believe I am an atheist, as she "sees" so much in the world that convinces her there is "something more".As gently as I could, I pointed out to her that what she was experiencing was an ability evolution programed into us -- the ability to see patterns in nature. It's an important survival tool, in the wild. Better to mistakenly think that pattern of shadows in the bushes is a lurking sabretooth tiger, and act accordingly, than to potentially miss a real sabretooth and end up dead!
