A full costume with an actual video display would be...sublime.

That is pretty nice. The head box could stand to be a bit narrower, though.

You're joking, right?

In terms of popularity, I've always considered Arnim Zola right up there with Wolverine and Spider-man.
****************

Zola doesn't come anywhere near Spidey or Wolverine in popularity.Spidey and Wolverine are highly recognized and popular with the general public. People who have never picked up a comic in their lives know who Spidey is. I love Zola and think he is Kirby's best creation during his 70's Marvel work, but there is just no comparison.

Sorry, Paul. I'm not sure where you've been lately, but Zola has grown a ton in popularity. Ask any younger Marvel fan, and Zola ranks right there with the big guns. Marvel has done a lot with the character over the years to make him a heavy hitter, and one of their most popular characters.

You must be out of touch a bit.

I don't read new Marvels. I don't care for them. I'am out of touch.

Still, I stand by my assertion that he is in no way as popular as Spidey and Wolverine. Show someone on the street a picture of Spider-Man and picture of Zola. A majority will know who Spider-Man is. The same can't be said of Zola. His popularity in the Marvel Universe may be very high, but I'm not talking about just comics. I'm talking about popularity of the characters in and out of comics.

Zola was huge in the Captain America movie, and will return to be in the next one. He is also in animation (the new Avenger cartoon) and there is a new action figure of him out right now that has so many collectors excited it sells on ebay for over $100.

I'm sorry, we're just going to have to disagree.

Come on! Nathan Greno co-directed one of the top grossing movies of 2011. I think he knows what's hot and what's not. He knows that current trends show a huge spike of popularity of Arnim Zola, especially with younger demographics. The Twitter trending stats of Zola compared to Spider-man are quite noticeable in the extremely important 10-25 year old demographic.

I've even heard mention that the Kirby estate is going to open a new lawsuit to try to claim ownership of Zola, in a proactive attempt to get the rights reverted back to the Kirby family before the new Zola merchandise (toys, clothing, housewares) hits in late 2012.
Should be interesting!!!

I've never heard of Zazzle. Expensive, but I'm torn between the fairly subtle ARC reactor shirt and the "With no power comes no responsibility" shirt.

The average person on the street will recognize Spider-Man, not Zola. Spider-Man is in every department store, toy store, comic book shop and bookstore in America. Zola is not.Spider-Man has three monster grossing movies and another one coming. Spider-Man is a pop culture giant. He had (has ?) had a giant balloon in a Thanksgiving Day parade.

As you said we'll just have disagree.

I did not know Nathan Greno was a major movie director. As far as I knew he was just a guy on a forum  who bought all kinds of cool art. What movie was it ?

Paul, I'm going to give you a hint. Nathan and Dave are professional leg pullers. Nathan is a movie director as well. Dave is just some homeless guy, he is never to be trusted.
